Pangasius catfish

Fowler, 1937

(Other members of the genus Pangasius)

ADULT SIZE: 30 cm

WATER CONDITIONS: Not critical

TEMPERATURE RANGE: 23-28 C

FOOD: Feed Pangasius sutchi live and dried foods

DISTRIBUTION: This species comes from Thailand

AQUARIUM CARE: A shy catfish species, that is often bought for community aquariums, but always outgrows them. Fortunately, some dealers will take them back when they get too big. Best kept in a shoal, ideally in a rounded tank to allow continual swimming. This species is far more active at night. Many species sold as Pangasius sutchi are misidentified, and some can reach over a metre in length. This fish is best avoided by the home aquarist.
