ADULT SIZE: 5 cm
WATER CONDITIONS: Not critical
TEMPERATURE RANGE: 25-28 C
FOOD: Feed Iriatherina werneri small live-foods and fine grade dried foods
DISTRIBUTION: This species comes from Australia, New Guinea
AQUARIUM CARE: The threadfin rainbow is a very attractive, but very delicate species. It comes from the slower moving waters of New Guinea, so stronger currents should be avoided. This species likes a well-plated tank with floating plants.
It is not difficult to keep, but really should go in a species tank, or a community of the most delicate fish.
BREEDING: Best bred with spawning mops allowing the fry to be raised seperately
