DISTRIBUTION: This species comes from Angola, Congo (DRC), Lake Tanganyika

AQUARIUM CARE: This African characin is too big for most home aquariums, although juvenilles are sometimes available. It is partially vegetarian, and should be offered green matter, but also enjots worms, live and dried food. It has a fairly wide distribution in the Democratic Republic of Congo, but also occurs in Lake Tanganyika
