Aquarium Fish :: View topic – aphyosemion striatum

Hi Clive , Aphyosemion striatum is a really nice fish, that is very easy to keep and breed. They are not at all fussy about water conditions, though they would probably prefer a tank without too many other fish types. To breed them they will need a species tank, preferably well planted – and if fed well will soon spawn. I keep similar killies in bare tanks, with only hornwort, java moss and water sprite. This creates enough spawning sites and hiding places to keep the fry happy. Adults will eat the fry, but only if they are not well fed. If you give the tank newly hatched artemia quite a few will make it to adulthood, and you’ll soon be taking them back to the shop. Like most killies, they do jump, so keep them covered. Good luck and keep us informed if you buy them! Jules_________________Check out my Killifish
